ABOUT

ME

I first picked up a pair of sticks when I was about 12 years old, just after starting high school. I joined one of the school bands and not long after that joined a few bands outside of school and started playing some small gigs around the Manchester area.

In 2007 & 2008 I was a finalist in the Young Drummer Of The Year competition which was a platform to move onto bigger and better things.

I’ve now been playing professionally for over 10 years and have established myself as both a touring and studio session drummer.

I have toured the world and worked with many artists including: Bonnie Tyler, Nightmares On Wax, Foxes, Bo Bruce, Diagram Of The Heart, James Morrison and The Noisettes to name a few.

I have been lucky enough to tour the USA 6 times now and have performed all over the world from Thailand to South America and Mexico and even places such as Iceland and as far as Hong Kong. I have played some of the biggest festivals in the UK and abroad and was fortunate enough to play in venues such as O2 arena in London several times, in front of 20,000 people!

Away from the gigs/tours and session work my other passion is teaching! I have been teaching drums even longer than I have been out gigging as a professional session drummer.

When I first started learning how to play the drums I was hooked and loved nothing more than practicing on my kit in the garage, little did I know where playing the drums would take me and end up being able to earn a living doing what I love!

I now have a large number of students who I teach privately, as well as teaching in several different schools. Many current students who have studied with me have gone on to pass all their Grade Exams and a couple have even gone on to study further on drum courses at music college and university.

I believe you are never too old (or too young) to start learning how to play the drums, and you never know where it might take you... It might just end up being a hobby, you might end up playing a few gigs in some pubs or you might end up making a career out of it...

Given the current pandemic situation, I have tried to make sure that one thing students don't miss out on is their drum lessons and I've also tried to get virtual lessons as close to a real 1:1 lesson as possible. I've invested in a purpose built drum studio and a production set-up that enables me to offer a more interactive remote learning environment with multiple camera angles and fully mixed balanced audio, meaning no more awkward webcam angles and distorted hard to hear audio.
